NIGHT PHOTO SHOOT
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2014
$64 per person
Join us for a night shoot in the D&S yard the evening before Photographer's Train. You will have supervised access to the areas normally restricted to the to the public. A professional photographer will be lighting the narrow gauge locomotives for you to get outstanding photographs!
This event is limited to 20 photographers and is offered only to Winter Photo Train passengers.
We’ll meet in the Durango Depot lobby (479 Main Avenue) at 6:00PM. You will be exiting the yard near the D&SNG parking lot. It is recommended to park in the D&S lot (free at night).
We’ll start with a brief informational meeting about safety and best practices for night shooting. We will then move out to the yard and shoot several scenes including a portrait of a locomotive and tender.
Photographers should bring tripods, cable release or remote trigger and personal flashlight or headlamp. Unless you are completely familiar with all the settings necessary for night shooting, please bring your camera’s manual. A pocket-sized flashlight or headlamp is helpful for walking safely and is handy to adjust your settings once you’re outside. Be sure you have plenty of film or memory cards and sufficient battery power. Please watch the weather and dress appropriately including hat, gloves, raincoat or winter coat. Sturdy shoes or boots are required.
The D&SNGRR reserves the right to make changes to the night shoot if necessary due to weather or equipment issues. The roundhouse crew will be performing nightly work on the locomotives and depending on unexpected issues, it may be necessary to forego posed photos for working photos. Safety and equipment maintenance is the primary focus. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
D&SNGRR Policy on Commercial Use of Photographs: The Photographer's Specials are intended to provide a unique photography and railroading experience for all.
