Blues on the Rails
Friday & Saturday, August 21 & 22, 2015
The May 2015 Durango Blues Trains sold out to record-breaking numbers!
"We're excited to continue the Blues Train for its fifth anniversary aboard the historic railroad." said Steve Gumble, founder of the Durango Blues Train. "We have some incredible musicians booked for the 2015 Blues Train."
The August 2015 Blues Train welcomes musical guests Mark May Band, The King Stan Band, Possessed by Paul James, Charlie Parr, Reverend Deadeye and Big Jim Adam.
The 3 ½ hour excursion begins at the historic train depot at 7:00 p.m. where the steam engine fires up and it's 'All Aboard!' for an experience of a lifetime. Passengers will experience spectacular and breathtaking canyon views of Colorado's San Juan National Forest as the train winds onto the "Highline," a world famous section of railroad crawling along cliffs high above the Animas River. Four coaches have seats while two cars are open with no seats to entice and encourage dancing. Passengers are free to sample the different musical acts by traveling from one rail car to next.
Enjoy the blues, your favorite beer or wine, and the beautiful scenery of the famous train featured in the Hollywood production, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid."
The train returns back to the depot in Durango at approximately 10:20 p.m.
Guests can enjoy beverages including beer and wine while riding the train. Tickets are $95 per person, plus a 7% Historic Train Preservation Fee. Tickets are extremely limited and purchasers must be 21 years old to participate.
