Saint Patrick's Day Train

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Shamrock bear

Two vintage passenger cars will be set up for guests to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! The fare in these cars includes complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, live Irish music, Irish history talks, drink specials and once back in Durango, an Irish Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner at the Palace Restaurant.
Live traditional Irish music will be provided by the Kitchen Jam Band, a local group that play a mix of Scottish, Irish, Cape Breton, Shetland and Orkney Island tunes in addition to some old time and bluegrass.
Duane Smith, local author, historian, and college professor, will go between the 2 cars telling stories of Irish lore and how the Irish community was involved in the building of Durango.
After your day on the train, you won't have to worry about finding a place for dinner since your fare includes a traditional Irish dinner of Corned Beef & Cabbage by the award-winning chefs at the Palace Restaurant right next door to the train station! The Kitchen Jam Band will be there continuing to play your favorite Irish tunes.
