Hike, Bike & Train
June 15 - September 30, 2013

Leave Durango on a morning shuttle to Silverton to enjoy spectacular views while traveling over two mountain passes along the scenic 'San Juan Skyway' to Silverton. Meet up with your guide who will match you with your mountain bike and helmet and you'll soon be pedaling alongside Mineral Creek, an easy-grade, dirt road to the Ice Lakes Basin Trail. This easy, non-strenuous ride is suitable for just about anyone who remembers how to ride a bike! Then enjoy a short hike up to Clear Creek Waterfall where your guide will lay out a locally-produced mid-morning snack. Keep your eyes open for elusive wildlife and delicate alpine wildflowers during your tour! Hike back down to your bikes and ride to get back to your shuttle to Silverton. Once back down in town, you'll have about two hours to explore Silverton on your own, enjoy lunch and do some shopping.
Complete your day with a journey back to Durango on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Traveling along the canyons of the Animas River in vintage railroad cars, you will experience sights that cannot be seen by road travelers.
