Horseback Riding and Cave Adventure
May 29-August 26, 2013. Monday-Saturday only…or as conditions permit. (No trips on Sunday or July 4.)

This is a family favorite. You’ll be in the saddle for about an hour and forty minutes during this excursion that is a little over two hours. This adventure includes a short, but steep hike to a natural water cave we explore by flashlight. Bring a little snack and some water for the short break we take after hiking back up from the cave. A great ride for those who want to stay out longer than an hour and have a cool adventure!
Begin your western adventure as you depart Durango aboard the D&SNG steam train bound for Silverton. In Silverton you'll have 2 hours on your own to eat lunch and explore this old west mining town. Meet your shuttle driver in front of the Shady Lady at 1154 Blair Street. Look for the "Mild to Wild" van for your departure for Rapp Corral.
You can relax and enjoy the scenic vistas as you travel 30 miles over the San Juan Scenic Skyway to Rapp Corral. The professional wranglers will greet you, have a snack and you’ll get a chance to meet the sure-footed horse chosen just for you! Mount up and you will be on your way to explore a natural water cave* hidden away in the San Juan Mountains. Bring your camera since you will definitely want to record this experience! Once back at the corral, you'll have a chance to stretch your legs before the shuttle leaves to return you to Durango …about twenty minutes away!
*If conditions are not suitable for cave exploration, your wrangler has the discretion to choose another beautiful area for your 2-hour ride.
