Trail Ride / Cave Adventure - 2010

Begin your western adventure as you depart Durango aboard the 8:15am D&SNG steam train bound for Silverton. Once in Silverton you will have plenty of time to eat lunch and explore this old west mining town.  Meet your shuttle driver at 1:30pm at the Grand Imperial Hotel, right downtown. Relax and enjoy the scenic vistas as you travel over the San Juan Skyway to Rapp Corral.  The professional wranglers at Rapp will  pair you with one of their well trained, sure-footed, quality horses. Soon you will be on your way to explore a natural water cave hidden away in the San Juan Mountains.  Keep your camera handy; you will definitely want to record this experience.  Upon reaching the cave you will dismount, tie up the horse and take a short but steep hike down to the cave. Flashlights are provided for you to explore the cave;  just like the cowboys did when they first stumbled upon it. Water and snacks are provided before you get back on the horses for the ride back to Rapp Corral. Stretch your legs before the shuttle leaves to return you to Durango. Dinner at one of Durango's fine restaurants caps a day that will be remembered long after the sun sets.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum age is seven years old
Maximum weight limit is 230 lbs.
Riders must have closed-toed shoes.

SCHEDULE
8:15am - Train departs for Silverton
11:45am-Arrive in Silverton with time to eat lunch and explore the town.
1:30pm - The shuttle departs the Grand Imperial for Rapp Corral.
2:30pm - Arrive at Rapp Corral. Enjoy a short break, introduction to your horse and preparation for the ride.
3:00pm - 5:00pm - Trail Ride to natural water cave.
5:15pm - Shuttle departs for your return to Durango, arriving at about 5:45pm

Adult (ages 12 & over) - $174.24*
Child (ages 7-11) - $140.96*

*Includes 4% Historic Perservation Fee on train ticket portion.
