Trails & Rails Package - 2010

Ride the trails above Silverton and return to Durango on the rails of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

From Durango ride Mild To Wild's bus over two mountain passes with summits over 10,000' to meet your professional tour guide in Silverton. From there you'll spend about 3 hours riding the roads and trails to California Gulch and the old mining ghost town of Animas Forks in custom 4-wheel drive tour vehicles. Learn the history of the area and discover cascading rivers and tumbling waterfalls as they carve spectacular canyons amidst the towering San Juan Mountains. Wildlife and wildflowers paint this trip with variety and spice. Once back down in town, you'll have about 1 1/4 hours to enjoy lunch and shopping.
Complete your day with a journey back to Durango on the iron rails of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Traveling along the canyons of the Animas River in vintage railroad cars, you will experience sights that cannot be seen by road travelers.

DATES AVAILABLE:
May 22 - June 12: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays only
June 13 - August 14: daily except Sundays
August 15 - September 6: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Groups of 5 or more- please call for additional days of departure.
September 7 - October 10: Sunday through Thursday

DAILY SCHEDULE:
Be sure to pick up your tickets at the Durango Depot "Will Call" window by 7PM the day before your trip.
8:15 a.m. Bring your ticket and board the Mild To Wild bus in the D&SNG Parking Lot in Durango.
10:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Trail riding to Animas Forks & California Gulch.
1:15 pm - 2:30 p.m. Free time in Silverton for lunch and shopping.
2:30 p.m. Boarding time for 2:45 p.m. train departure.
6:15 p.m. Train's arrival in Durango.
