Trails and Rails - 4x4 Tours & Train Package

Trails & Rails

Check back soon for 2012 schedule and rates!

Leave Durango on a morning bus to meet up with the professional drivers of Mild To Wild Jeep Tours Company. You will be treated to spectacular views while traveling over 2 mountain passes along the scenic 'Million Dollar Skyway' to Silverton.  From there you'll spend about 3 hours riding the roads and trails to California Gulch and the old mining ghost town of Animas Forks in custom 4-wheel drive tour vehicles. Learn the history of the area and discover cascading rivers and tumbling waterfalls as they carve spectacular canyons amidst the towering San Juan Mountains. Keep your eyes open for elusive wildlife and delicate alpine wildflowers during your tour! Once back down in town, you'll have about 1 1/2 hours to explore Silverton, enjoy lunch and some shopping. Complete your day with a journey back to Durango on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Traveling along the canyons of the Animas River in vintage railroad cars, you will experience sights that cannot be seen by road travelers.
