Enjoy one leg of your Silverton journey onboard a D&SNGRR motor coach as you travel along 52 miles of the San Juan Scenic Byway. This option offers you a different perspective of the majestic mountains and reduces your travel time by up to two hours. The morning bus allows our guests 3 hours in Silverton before the train departs.

Add a motor coach transfer to your Presidential or First-Class excursion at no additional charge. Additional charges apply to Deluxe and Standard-Class excursions.

FARES: Add $12 to Standard and Deluxe Class train ticket fare.

Classes of Service

The first step in booking your steam rail adventure is choosing your car. With four classes of service, you are sure to find a car you'll love.

Presidential Class (Age 21 and over)

The Victorian splendor of a bygone era awaits you onboard two of the most legendary and historic private cars to ever grace the narrow gauge rails. The Nomad and Cinco Animas both offer two distinctively appointed seating areas, plus the Nomad also features a stateroom for four. A large outdoor viewing platform is exclusively available to those who choose this class.

First Class

Ride in historic comfort and style on one of our First-Class cars. You will be hosted by a knowledgeable attendant who will provide complimentary morning pastries, non-alcoholic beverages and custom first-class amenities.

Silver Vista (Age 16 and over)
Alamosa (Age 21 and over)

Deluxe Class

The Rio Grande, the San Juan Coach, and Prospector Family Car are three of the most recently refurbished cars in our fleet. For those with families or just those looking for added comfort, these Premium options both offer larger seats and a more adult atmosphere than Standard class.
