Train at RockwoodRide the steam train 26 miles each way on your trip to the Cascade Canyon wye. Enjoy the comfort of heated coaches as you travel along the Animas River and through the unparallelled beauty of the San Juan National Forest. Enjoy the towering mountains above you and warm your hands by the riverrock fireplace in the Cascade Canyon Pavilion. Boxed Lunch Available! As an added convenience for our guests, you may pre-purchase a Veggie Wrappersonal Premium Boxed Lunch that we will have onboard waiting for you! Lunches include a sandwich of choice, home-style potato salad with bacon & chives, and a gourmet chocolate chip cookie. Important! These lunches must be pre-purchased no later than 2:30 p.m. the day before your ride. Cost is just $10.oo per lunch.

D&SNG train lunch menu:
Chicken Salad:
A favorite salad recipe using succulent chicken breast, diced yellow, red and green bell peppers, onion, apple, mayonnaise, and spices and topped with organic baby greens and provolone cheese and served on freshly baked ciabatta bread.
Ham Sandwich: Sliced Boar’s Head brand black forest ham and premium Swiss cheese layered with organic baby greens on a freshly baked ciabatta bread (mayonnaise & mustard available on the side).
Turkey Sandwich: Sliced Boar’s Head brand smoked turkey breast and premium cheddar cheese layered with organic baby greens on a freshly baked ciabatta bread (mayonnaise & mustard available on the side).
Veggie Delight Wrap: fresh hummus, cucumber, sprouts, carrot, tomato, and bell pepper enveloped in a whole wheat wrap (mayonnaise & mustard available on the side).
Baked Potato Salad is made with russet potatoes, chives, diced bacon and sour cream.

We also have lunch, snacks, beverages, bar drinks and souvenirs available for purchase on our concession car.

November 23 - December 11: Thursday-Sunday only (No train on Thanksgiving Day Nov. 24 or Dec. 1 or 8.)
December 14-31: Daily (No train on Christmas Day Dec. 25.)

January 5th - March 3rd: Thursday-Saturday only
March 7 - April 1: Daily
April 4-14: Wednesday-Saturday only
April 15 - May 4: Daily
May 5: Train resumes service to Silverton

Lunch, snacks, beverages, bar drinks and souvenirs available for purchase on the  concession car on the train.

Restrooms are available in every Coach and Premium car.

Parking is available in the D&SNG Parking Lot on College Drive. Cost is $4 per vehicle. RV and trailer parking is $7 (no overnight camping per city municipal code).

Service to Silverton resumes May 5, 2012.

Be sure to visit the D&SNG Museum. It is open to the public from 1-4pm every day the train operates.
