Is the train ADA accessible?
The D&SNGRR offers a train car with a wheelchair-accessible restroom and lift service! This car is scheduled to run daily on our summer train to Silverton and on the winter train to Cascade Canyon. The wheelchair can be locked in position and non-wheelchair passengers ride right in the same car with the passenger in the wheelchair. Be sure to ask for the ADA car when booking. THERE IS ONLY ONE WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE CAR IN OUR FLEET. WITHOUT ADVANCE BOOKING, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR PARTY. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE CALL AHEAD TO BOOK THIS SERVICE!
Be sure to check out the great savings by purchasing a Season Pass! You’ll get unlimited Standard-class passage on all our regular trains, 10% off full-fares on premium-class cars, and receive 10% discounts on selected non-licensed special event trains! (Licensed events such as THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride are excluded.) As an added bonus, backpack fees are waived for Season Pass holders! Great for those who need to pack extra gear for overnighting in the wilderness.

We are fully open for operations and our 2022 summer season is off to a wonderful and robust start. We experienced a brief pause in railroad operations over three days while we worked through communications with the Forest Service on our operating status while observing agreed upon fire precautions. Concurrently, we were able to rebook passengers to adjacent days when train excursions were operating.
We are now operating daily and our train schedule is in fact expanding as we move deeper into the summer season.
Please know that if we experience any interruptions in service due to future fire precaution levels, we will reach out to all of our guests in a most timely manner to offer information and alternatives.
Thank you”
