Experience TWO adventures in the same day! Take a vintage steam train ride to Cascade Canyon and then extend your winter fun with a 2-hour guided snowmobile trip in the San Juan National Forest at over 10,000 feet in elevation!
Trip Outline: Guests will ride the Cascade Canyon train to Cascade and back. On the return trip they will de- board from Rockwood and be picked up by the Ice Pirates and taken to Molas Pass for a Snowmobile Adventure, they will spend a couple of hours exploring the Molas area by snowmobile with experienced guides. Returning to the Ice Pirates base camp, they will have hot chocolate and snacks. Ice Pirates will then shuttle their guests back to the Railroad Parking lot arriving about 6 pm. Guests should expect and dress accordingly for cold weather-snow conditions. Ice Pirates does have cold weather gear available at their base camp for no extra charge.

Train/Snowmobile Package Rates:
Single Rider (age 15 WITH valid driver’s permit) - $249.19*
Double Sled Package Price with Train Ride: Adults $196.19* per adult
Child (ages 4-11 double) $168.37* per child
2 adults on a double sled will be $392.38*
1 adult\1 child on a double sled will be $364.56*
*includes 7% historic preservation fee (train ticket) and 6% US Forest Service Fee (snowmobile)
Limited to 14 passengers: Children age 4-11 pay the child train fare and a spot on a double sled.
Note: Children and adults under age 15 or NOT in possession of a valid driver’s permit must ride a double sled with a licensed driver. Children 4-11 pay the double sled price and child’s Cascade price.
Due to complexity of all the details and arrangements, this package is not available to book online.
Drivers: Can be any adult age 18 years and over. Drivers aged 16 and 17 must show valid driver's license.
For your safety, all snowmobilers are required to wear provided helmets.
Minimum age is 5 years old to ride.
We recommend dressing in layers of warm winter clothing, snow boots, mittens and hat. Ice Pirates will have snowmobile suits and boots available for use but sizes will be limited.
Maximum weight per sled is 350 pounds.
Guests must sign Liability Release. Download and complete it in the comfort of your home and bring it with you when you meet your driver. This will also save time and get you on the snow trails sooner!
