Your ultimate western adventure is just beginning as you leave Durango on the 8:00am steam train bound for Silverton. At Elk Park San Juan Sky Outfitters is waiting with your horse for you to disembark the train and mount up. Here you will begin the ride from the Animas river up the Colorado Trail to the top of Molas Pass stopping along the way for a campfire-grilled lunch. From Molas your shuttle will take you into Silverton in time to catch the 3:30pm train back to Durango.
Leave Durango on a morning shuttle to Silverton to meet up with your guide. Once matched with your mountain bike and helmet, you'll be pedaling through valleys and along trails and then hiking to a spectacular waterfall. Return to Silverton by 12:30 in time to have lunch on your own and return to Durango via the rails of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
Leave Durango on a morning bus to meet up with the professional drivers of Mild To Wild Jeep Tours company who will take you on trails high above Silverton! Once you return you can enjoy shopping and lunch on your own before you return to Durango via the rails of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
Depart Durango aboard the coal-fired steam-powered train to the wilderness flagstop of Elk Park. From there your guide will take you from the open meadow into the deep forest of the Weminuche Wilderness, Colorado's largest wilderness area. Enjoy a local-fare lunch at the destination point of 'Beaver Ponds' before heading back down to catch the afternoon train back to Durango.
